Day 1 - Yangon - Bago - Kyaikhtiyo

You will be picked up at your hotel in Yangon to drive to Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock). During your scenic drive to Kyaiktiyo, you will gain insight into the life of people living in the countryside. On the way you will stop in Bago, housing lots of historical sites worth visiting such as the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, only one spire taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. Head to Kanbawzathadi Palace, where visitors get a lot of information about the rich history of the Mon-State. See one of the most beautiful reclining Buddha statues in Myanmar - the 55 meters long Shwe Tha Lyaung Buddha and the Kyaik Pun Pagoda, known for its four towering images of Buddha.

Day 2 - Kyaikhtiyo: Excursion Golden Rock, Transfer to Hpa-An

After breakfast, transfer to Kinpun base camp. At the base camp, you will join an adventurous ride in a public open truck, as this is the only way to reach the Golden Rock. Arriving on the top of the hill, you will have plenty of time to not only admire the magnificent view of the mountain landspace before sunrise but especially the legendary Golden Rock, which your guide will provide interesting information about. After sightseeing at the Golden Rock, transfer to Hpa-An.

Day 3 - Hpa-An

The picturesque capital city of Kayin state captivates due to its fascinating landscape and verdurous rice fields. First, you visit the Kaw Ka Thaung Cave, housing a lot of Buddha statues of different sizes and shapes. Afterwards, head to the huge Saddan Cave, home to millions of bats. Make sure to bring a torchlight with you so you can see the fascinating carvings. Reaching daylight again, hop on a boat and enjoy a delightful boat trip back to the starting point. The sightseeing tour continues as you visit the Lumbini Garden right in front of Mt. Zwegabin. There you can see hundreds of aligned seated Buddha images. Head to Kyaut Ka Latt Pagoda afterwards, surely one of the most photogenic spots around Hpa-An. Before sunset at the Bat cave, visit the Kawgun Cave, where you will see lots of ancient Buddha images carved on walls.

Day 4 - Boat Hpa-An - Mawlamyine

In the morning time, the journey continues to Mawlamyine by boat. A must-see place around Mawlamyine is the world's largest reclining Buddha Win Sein Taw Ya. Other sights to be found in the area include the cave of Kha-Yon, which used to be a Buddhist temple, and the Kyaik Thanlan-Pagoda, the place where Rudyard Kipling wrote the poem 'Road to Mandalay', offering fantastic panoramic views around Mawlamyine and the Salween River.

Day 5 - Mawlamyine - Yangon

After breakfast you will be transferred back to Yangon, arriving in the late afternoon.
