Day 1 - Arrival Yangon

Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, you will be picked up by Golden Express Tours representatives and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2 - Yangon: Excursion Golden Rock

Your excursion starts in the morning time. During your scenic drive to Kyaiktiyo, you gain insight into the life of people living in the countryside. We will depart straight to Kyaiktiyo (Kinpun base camp). At the base camp, you join an adventurous ride in a public open truck to reach the Golden Rock. Arriving on the top of the hill, you have plenty of time to not only admire the great view of the mountain landscape but especially the legendary Golden Rock, which your guide provides interesting information about. After sightseeing and arriving at the Kin Pun base camp again, you head back to Yangon. Before arriving in the city, you make the last stop at the Htaukkyant War memorial cemetery, a cemetery for Allied soldiers of the British Commonwealth, who died in the battle in Burma (Myanmar) during the Second World War.

Day 3 - Yangon: Half Day Sightseeing Tour, Bus Yangon - Nyaung U (Bagan)

On this half day city tour, you visit the spectacular sights in Yangon. Your first stop is the Chauk Htat Gyi Buddha Temple - one of the most revered reclining Buddha images in Myanmar. Visit the Shwedagon Pagoda afterwards, not only known as Myanmar's most precious sight but also the most sacred pagoda in the whole country. Upon arrival in Yangon's bustling downtown area, amble past Bogyoke (Scott) Market, which offers a wide range of food, clothes, handicraft and gem stores. The last stop is the ancient Sule Pagoda, which was built over 2.000 years ago. In the late afternoon, transfer to the Highway Bus Station to catch the bus to Bagan.

Day 4 - Bagan: Full Day Sightseeing Tour

Upon arrival in Bagan, your temple tour starts. Stroll around the colourful local market before visiting the most significant temples and pagodas around Bagan. The Shwezigon Pagoda, which was built by King Anawratha in the early 11th century, enshrines many sacred Buddhist relics. The oldest original paintings in Bagan can be found at Gubyaukgyi Temple. Furthermore, you visit the Ananda Temple with its four magnificent gilded Buddha statues. Continue your tour in the afternoon after a lunch break at a local restaurant or your hotel to Myinkaba village, famous for its traditional lacquerware handicrafts. Visit the Mon-style Manuha Temple and the Nanpaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument, afterwards. Enjoy a panoramic sunset view at Bupaya Pagoda right by the Irrawaddy River.

Day 5 - Bagan: Excursion Salay & Mt. Popa

In the morning you get picked up at your hotel to drive to Salay, known for its cultural heritage. See the exceptional woodcarvings at Yoke Sone Monastery first, which was built in 1882 by King Thipaw. Afterwards, visit the 150-year old teak monastery Sarsana Yaungchi, built by King Mindon. Admire the ancient Buddha images and antique cabinets decorated with floral ornaments as well as Myanmar paintings in gold and silver colours. At noontime, transfer to Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano. Climbing the 777 stairs up to the monastery, you will be rewarded with amazing views over the natural beauty surrounding the mountain. Mt. Popa has been dedicated to animist spirits known as Nats. In the afternoon, you get dropped off back at your hotel.

Day 6 - Bus Nyaung U (Bagan) - Mandalay

After breakfast, transfer to the bus station to catch the bus to Mandalay. Upon arrival in Mandalay, transfer to your hotel and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 7 - Mandalay: Excursion Amarapura, Innwa & Sagaing

You will get picked up at your hotel after breakfast to drive to Amarapura. There you will visit Mahagandayon, a well-known Buddhist Monastery, where over a thousand monks live and study. One of Myanmar's most popular spots to take photos at is the U-Bein Bridge, the longest wooden teak bridge in the world. Then you will take the boat to the former Royal Capital of Innwa (Ava). Join the adventurous ride on a horse cart and visit the Nanmyint Watch Tower and Maha Aung Mye Bonzan Monastery. Further, you will see lots of unique and artful wood carvings when visiting the Bagaya Monastery. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere at Sagaing Hill, offering you the most beautiful sunset by the Ayeyarwady River. After your excursion, you will get dropped off at your hotel in Mandalay.

Day 8 - Bus Mandalay - Nyaung Shwe (Inle Lake)

After breakfast, transfer to the bus station to catch the bus to Nyaung Shwe. Upon arrival in Nyaung Shwe, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 9 - Inle Lake: Full Day Sightseeing Tour

You get picked up in the morning to join a comfortable boat trip on the beautiful Inle Lake, known for its leg rowers, floating villages and gardens. Today you will gain insight into the everyday life of the Intha, who mostly live in wooden houses built on tall stilts, and learn about their methods of fishing and gardening. You visit the silk weaving village Inpawkhon where artisans produce one of the most expensive and rarest textiles in the world: silk made from lotus flowers. Further visits to cheerot making and silversmith factories are also included on this tour. Head to Indein, a huge Pagoda complex which was built in the 17th century. Afterwards, visit the Hpaung Daw U Pagoda and the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, before you return to your hotel.

Day 10 - Inle Lake: Excursion to Kakku & Taunggyi, Bus Nyaung Shwe - Yangon

Today, you visit Kakku. Located in the heart of Shan state, you find over 2000 stupas at the Kakku Pagoda Complex, which were mostly built in the 16th century. Your guide provides information about the history and legends of the Kakku Pagodas. Afterwards, you head to Htan Phaya, a village where you can explore a cave, hiding numerous images of different sized Shan Buddhas. On the way back, you pass by Taunggyi, the capital of Shan state. There you get the chance to meet the Pa-Oh people, the second largest ethnic group in the Shan state. In the afternoon, transfer to Nyaung Shwe Bus station to catch the bus back to Yangon.

Day 11 - Departure Yangon
