Yesterday's Burma, today's Myanmar is the largest Country in mainland South-East Asia. It's one of the few truly original travel experiences reaming in this much-travelled world. From snow-capped mountains in the far North, across the sweeping central plains on to the ocean-swept shores at the Southern tip. Myanmar is a land of unspoiled beauty, exotic fauna and flora, an ancient culture, spectacular scenery. It is an ideal destination for the person who boasts that he has been there, seen that and done that. Few have set foot on the slopes of the mountains that come down from the mighty Himalayas. Fewer still have reached the summit. The vast 11th century archaeological site in Bagan on the central plains is evidence of a great, ancient and continuing religious culture. In the West and South, the waters of the Indian Ocean wash on pristine beaches and numerous islands, most of which no tourist has ever had the joy to behold. Life here has remained unchanged through the centuries. It is said that Myanmar waters is the only place where lobsters die of old age. Myanmar is a country here religion, customs and traditions have weathered the storms of time. People still carry out rites and ceremonies that their great grandparents did. Whichever ethnic region you may visit, the people live in age-old ways. However, time for tradition is time for tradition: custom is custom. While most of the world has adopted the Western suit and tie, people in this country still proudly adhere to their national dress and ethnic dress or costumes for special occasions.
Visitors speak of the smiles of the Myanmar people. Wherever a visitor goes, sincere smiles will be a greeting. Shy, giggling smiles from children and smiles of simple delight from adults. The wish to help, to be hospitable, to bring joy to the visitor, to share one's meal, however simple, is inherent - a part of the culture. There are lots of travellers for short visit at first and surprisingly continue every year for 4 or 5 times to Myanmar. We believe you will be one of them. As the saying goes " SEEING IS BELIEVING ". Myanmar welcome you warmly |
