Day 1 - Arrival Yangon

Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, you will be picked up and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 - Yangon: Downtown Walking Tour & Shwedagon Pagoda

In the morning your guide will pick you up at your hotel. The Yangon Heritage Walk starts as you reach Yangon's bustling downtown area, where you find the highest number of the most beautiful colonial buildings in Southeast Asia. Walk through Yangon's old business district to see the abandoned colonial-era administrative buildings, part of the Yangon City Heritage List, such as the High Court, Myanmar Port Authority building or the Accountant General's Office. As you pass the bridge to Pansodan Jetty, you get impressions of the busy life right by the Yangon River. Continue to visit the Sule Pagoda, which was built over 2.000 years ago. Bogyoke (Scott) Market offers a wide range of food, clothes, handicraft and gem stores. Afterwards, you transfer to Myanmar's most precious sight, the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred pagoda in the whole country.

Day 3 - Flight Yangon - Heho (Inle Lake), Boat Trip Inle Lake & Indein

Transfer to Yangon Airport to catch the flight to Heho. After check in at your hotel, you join a comfortable boat trip on the beautiful Inle Lake, known for its leg rowers, floating villages and gardens. Today you will gain insight into the everyday life of the Intha, who mostly live in wooden houses built on tall stilts, and learn about their methods of fishing and gardening. You visit the silk weaving village Inpawkhon where artisans produce one of the most expensive and rarest textiles in the world: silk made from lotus flowers. Further visits to cheerot making and silversmith factories are also included on this tour. Head to Indein, a huge Pagoda complex which was built in the 17th century. Afterwards, visit the Hpaung Daw U Pagoda and the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, before you return to your hotel.

Day 4 - Nyaung Shwe - Kalaw

After breakfast, transfer to Kalaw - a former British hill station. On the way, you stop at a farming village of Pa-O and Shan people. Nearby you can also visit a small cave where Buddhist devotees set up several Buddha statues. After lunch, walk through Kalaw, a peaceful place with an atmosphere reminiscent of the colonial area. Nowadays the town is a market centre for ethnic minorities from surrounding regions.

Day 5 - Kalaw - Mandalay

Today you will be picked up at your hotel in Kalaw to transfer to Mandalay. Upon arrival, the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 6 - Mandalay - Pyin Oo Lwin

Pyin Oo Lwin is a former British hill station. The town is not only known for its charming colonial-style buildings, but also for its rich and diverse collection of flora at National Kandawgyi Botanical Gardens. After a short city tour by horse-drawn carriage, continue to see the Peik Chin Myaung Cave, located behind the gorgeous waterfall right by the entrance. Lots of Buddha statues and shrines can be found inside the cave. Before returning to your hotel in Mandalay, you visit the Pwe Kauk Falls, a popular picnic spot for locals and pleasant refreshment on hot days.

Day 7 - Pyin Oo Lwin: Train Journey Goteik Viaduct, Transfer to Mandalay

Today you join an adventurous train ride on Myanmar's highest railway. This train ride belongs to one of the most impressive train routes in whole Asia. You will cross the majestic 700-metre long Goteik Viaduct, which also runs over a 100-metre deep gorge. Built in 1900 by American engineers, Gokteik was once the longest railway trestle in the world. Even today, it is considered a technical masterpiece of bridge construction. Your driver will pick you up in Nawngpeng and drop you off back in Mandalay.

Day 8 - Mandalay: Excursion Amarapura, Innwa & Sagaing

You get picked up at your hotel in Mandalay to drive to Amarapura. There you visit Mahagandayon, a well-known Buddhist Monastery, where over thousands of monks live and study. One of Myanmar's most popular spots to take photos at is the U-Bein Bridge, the longest wooden teak bridge in the world. After lunch at a local restaurant, you visit the former Royal Capital of Innwa. Join a ride on a horse cart and visit the Nanmyint Watch Tower and Maha Aung Mye Bonzan Monastery. Further, you see lots of unique and artful wood carvings when visiting the Bagaya Monastery. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere at Sagaing Hill, offering you the most beautiful sunset by the Irrawaddy River. After your excursion, you get dropped off at your hotel in Mandalay.

Day 9 - Mandalay - Bagan

After breakfast, you get picked up to transfer to the bus station in Mandalay. Upon arrival in Bagan, transfer to your hotel, the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 10 - Bagan: Full Day Temple Tour

Your temple tour starts in the morning time. Stroll around the colourful local market before visiting the most significant temples and pagodas around Bagan. The Shwezigon Pagoda, which was built by King Anawratha in the early 11th century, enshrines many sacred Buddhist relics. The oldest original paintings in Bagan can be found at Gubyaukgyi Temple. Furthermore, you visit the Ananda Temple with its four magnificent gilded Buddha statues. Continue your tour in the afternoon after lunch to Myinkaba village, famous for its traditional lacquerware handicrafts. Visit the Mon-style Manuha Temple and the Nanpaya Temple, a unique sandstone monument, afterwards. Enjoy a panoramic sunset view at Bupaya Pagoda right by the Irrawaddy River.

Day 11 - Flight Nyaung U (Bagan) - Yangon

Transfer to Nyaung U Airport to catch the flight back to Yangon. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
