In the morning your guide will pick you up at your hotel. The
Heritage Walk starts as you reach Yangon's bustling downtown area, where you find the highest number of the most beautiful colonial buildings in Southeast Asia. Walk through Yangon's old business district to see the abandoned colonial-era administrative buildings, part of the
Yangon City Heritage List, such as the High Court, Myanmar Port Authority building or the Accountant General's Office. As you pass the bridge to Pansodan Jetty, you get impressions of the busy life right by the Yangon River. Continue to visit the
Sule Pagoda, which was built over 2.000 years ago. Bogyoke (Scott) Market offers a wide range of food, clothes, handicraft and gem stores. Afterwards, you transfer to Myanmar's most precious sight, the
Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred pagoda in the whole country.
Please note, that Scott Market is closed on mondays and
public holidays.
Remark
The Shwedagon Pagoda will be undergoing renovation from September 2018 to March 2019. During this period, the pagoda will be covered with bamboo scaffolding and mats. The pagoda will still be opened to the public and you still can enjoy the vicinity of the surrounding areas.
