Day 1 : Yangon arrival

Upon arrival Yangon, you will be welcome by Golden Express Tours’s representative and transferred to the hotel for a good rest.

Day 2 : Yangon-Bagan (flight), Bagan sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel; transfer to Yangon domestic airport to fly to Bagan. Upon arrival Bagan, the full day sightseeing tour begins with Shwezigone Pagoda – built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine, Anada Temple – a white-washed masterpiece of Mon architecture with four stancing Buddhas, the adjacent brick monastery with the beautiful wall as preserved 18th century murals, Thatbyinnyu Temple – know as a temple of omniscience and dating back from 1144 and the Sulamuni Temple. In the afternoon, we will visit one of Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts, a lacquer ware home industry. Then we will continue visiting Damayangyi Temple – the massive temple in Bagan was built by Narathu who as also called as Kalagyi Min or the king killed by the Kalas. Enjoy sunset from Shwesandaw Pagoda and then transfer to the hotel.

Day 3 : Bagan sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel; today we continue to explore Bagan by visiting Payarthonezu Temple Complex, Min Nan Thu Village. Then, visit Gubyaukgyi Temple – admiring the fine stuccowork, Nanpaya temple – built in Mon style with intricate stone carvings and said once to have been Manuha’s residence, Htilominlo – the last Burma style temple built in Bagan, with old murals and friezes, Apeyadanar Temple, Lawkanandar Temple and enjoy sunset at one of the monuments along Ayeyarwaddy River.

Day 4 : Bagan-Mandalay (flight), Amarapura-Sagaing sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel; transfer to Bagan airport to fly to Mandalay. Arrival Mandalay airport, start an excursion to Amarpura: Maha Gandayone Monastery – home to several thousand young monks. Going towards for 200 years old U Bein Teak Bridge – built in 1728 at the time when Amarapura was a Royal Capital. Then visit traditional hand woven silk workshop teak posts. In the afternoon, we will head to Sagaing by passing through Sagaing Bridge. We do sightseeing for its famous pagodas. Enjoy the panoramic view at the top of the hill and visit to Silver smith and Kaunghmudaw Pagoda. And we will head back to Mandalay for good night rest.
Overnight in Mandalay

Day 5 : Mandalay-Mingun-Mandalay sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel; transfer to jetty and excursion by boat on Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingun about 1 hour upper river from Mandalay. Visit Mingun Bell – the woel largest un-cracked bell, weighting 90 tons and continue Shinbyume as well as unfinished Pagoda – bulit as one of the world’s largest cherish by King Bodaw Paya by traditional style bullock-cart. After sightseeing, we will sail back to Mandalay. Upon arrival Mandalay, start our excursion by visiting Shwe Nan Daw Palace – known as former Royal Palace, which was once King Mindon’s home. Continue we will experience the sights and sounds of Mandalay including one of the most religious images in Myanmar, the Mahamuni Pagoda. Then we will stop to see stone carving and later to see gold leaf being beaten into wafer thin pieces. And we will visit Shwe Nan Daw monastery – excellent example of a traditional wooden bulding and Kuthodaw Pagoda – the world’s largest book made of marble. Enjoy spectacular views at sunset from Mandalay Hill and transfer back to hotel.

Day 6 : Mandalay-Heho (flight), Inle sightseeing

Breakfast at hotel; transfer to the Mandalay domestic airport to fly to Heho. Upon arrival; drive to Nyaung Shwe – a town at the north of Inle Lake. From there take an Inthar style Sampa for your excursion to Inle Lake (25 km) – famous for its unique one-leg rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing

and village life. Visit the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda housing five sacred and almost shapeless Buddha images, contorted because of the quantity of applied gold leaf, gifts from the believers. The Buddha images are reported to have come here in the 12th Century. In the afternoon, proceed to the silk weaving village of In Phaw Khon and visit Nga Phe Chaung (the biggest and oldest monastery around Inle Lake).

Day 7 : Indein sightseeing and transfer, Heho-Yangon (flight)

Breakfast at hotel; visit one of the colourful markets in Inle Lake Area. Here in Inle Lake, the markets are not held in every day. They are rotating on 5 days’ basis. Proceed by boat to Indein to see the ancient pagodas that combined with Bagan & Shan style, built during Bagan Period, passing the beautiful scenery with tall grasses and little water steps. The ruin pagodas, hidden in the bushes will give you an impression that you were back to the 12th century. After the sightseeing, we will drive to Heho airport to fly to Yangon. Transfer to hotel upon arrival Yangon.

Day 8 : Yangon sightseeing and departure

Breakfast at hotel; visit Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda is famous for its huge image of Reclining Buddha, built in 1966 replacing the old image built in1907 and a short photo stop at Kandawgyi; Karaweik Hall - a royal barge in the form of Karaweik (mythical bird) built in 1972 in the Kandawgyi Royal Lake. After that visit Botataung Pagoda is enshrined with the sacred hair of the Lord Buddha and we will visit to Scott Market (closed on Mondays and Public Holidays). Then we will visit to famous Shwedagone Pagoda, the massive bell-shaped golden spires plated with 60 tons of gold and the tip of the stupa isset with diamonds, rupies, sapphires and topaz. After the sightseeing, we will transfer to the airport to fly back to your home.
