Terms & Conditions

Please Note
Monasteries do not provide private bedrooms. Sleeping is arranged on mats in the main hall of the monastery. The mats are arranged in hostel dormitory style.
The mats provided are slim, and are covered with a blanket only.
Pillows are provided
The sleeping areas are divided for men and women (couples are not allowed to stay together).
Washing facilities are outside in open spaced special designated areas. There is no hot water.
Most monasteries only have traditional toilets.
Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions
Not recommended for pregnant women

Full Itinerary

Kalaw - Wah Gyi Myaung


This morning your trekking guide will pick you up at your hotel and you drive to NYAUNG PIN TAR village on the Kalaw - Heho motorway. From this village, start the hike southwards crossing a vast fertile valley where the local people live on agriculture. Many small tribal villages are dotted along the route. Arrive at the pottery making village of KAN PA NI for lunch prepared and cooked by the trekking team. Later, hike again in south east direction with the trek gradually ascending and passing through Pa O and Danu tribal villages. Arrive at WAH GYI MYAUNG, a Pa O village atop the mountain range in the late afternoon.
Dinner and overnight at the monastery.
Today walk comprises flat valleys with farms and dry empty forest in the first two third of the trek and the last section to the overnight village is steep with narrow walking paths. The elevation runs from 1100 to 1600 meters above sea level.

Wah Gyi Myaung - Khaung Daing


After a simple local breakfast, start hiking in the eastern direction. The walking paths are mainly on high mountain terraces dotted with farms and plantations. The elevation along the walk also varies as there are many ascents and descents but quite shady as this dense forest area covers most of the way. Finally, arrive at the base of the mountain range at KHAUNG DAING village. The farewell lunch will be given at the local restaurant before getting onto the boat taking you to the hotel.
Today walk is mainly consists of steep ascents but under the shade of the tropical forest during the first part and gradual downhill hiking at the last stage. The difference of elevation is from 1600 to 1000 meters.

1. Children 3 years old and under are free. Children above 3 years will need to be paid as Adults.
2. For Ballooning tours, children under the age of 8 years will not be allowed to fly. Children aged between 8 and 16 years will need to be paid as Adults, and must be over 137cm tall (4 feet 6 inches). Additionally, they need to be accompanied by a paying adult.
