Meet your guide in central
Nyaung Shwe for introductions. A bike fitting and safety briefing follow before you hop on your bike to start the tour.
Rides out of town on a tar road for about 3 km before starting on the narrow trails that make up most of today’s riding surface. While not technically difficult, the narrow lanes do require some degree of confidence on a
bike. The seasons bring different crops and activities to show which may include molasses production, rice harvesting & milling, rice cracker making, tofu factories, a baker and rice alcohol distillery.
A mid-morning snack stop is at a truly local establishment, with great Shan food & drinks to match. The bikes are loaded into
boats for a transfer of about 20-minutes to start a countryside tour circuit through villages and rice fields.
After this, another boat ride of about 40-minutes takes us to lunch. After lunch, the bikes are swapped for
kayaks and a very short boat ride takes us to a quiet area for the kayaking. This can be for as long or as short as any guest wishes as the long-tail boat accompanies us, allowing the guest to get in at any suitable point.
After returning to the lunch house and dropping the kayaks, the long-tail boat makes the journey back to Nyaung Shwe (approximately - 45 mins). The arrival at Nyaung Shwe does depend on how long the guests have been kayaking but is usually around 17:00 pm.
